The Nathan Update

Well, 6 weeks to go!! We are kinda, almost, sorta getting closer to the homestretch. :) I had my appointment today. Things are going well. We are measuring right on target, heartbeat is good. We also got some VERY good and hoped for news. For those who didn't know, I have been having some issues with my pubic bone. Basically the ligaments that hold the pubic bone together have been strained/stretched and the two sections are separating. This happens to a degree with pretty much everyone during pregnancy but mine is one of those more extreme cases that is a bit more rare. The good news is that it is not a danger to the baby at all. We also learned today that it should not effect my delivery plans at all. Chances are, it won't be any different than other deliveries other than my recovery time might be a wee bit longer since my body has a little more correcting to do. :) I may also have to have several weeks of physical therapy prior to delivery but hey, who wouldn't want to go rehabilitate their pubic bone?!?
So all of this is wonderful news. We are happy to know that it's not a dangerous situation at all. Of course, the unpleasant part is that it is ridiculously painful. Very simple things can be excruciating. I feel really blessed to have a fantastic husband who helps me out so much.
So that is our update. We are doing well and getting so excited for this baby to come! I can't wait to meet him!!

good luck on your pubic bone rehabilitation! I know how you feel, except pain is the normal kind, so I'm so sorry for what you are going through!! 6 weeks...YAY!
